Google Adsense is Getting Competition

Most SEO’s (Search Engine Optimizers) who build web sites for the sole purpose of profit have known how effective Google Adsense can be placed on their web sites. Google Adsense is an advertising network that you can sign up and place Google’s advertising on your web site. When a viewer clicks on an ad that is placed on your site, you are paid a portion of the advertising proceeds and the viewer is sent to the advertiser’s web site hopefully to buy their product.

Google Adsense has been extremely successful for all three parties; the advertiser, Google, and the Web site owner. However, since Google has become so successful, the other big web portals have been looking to also join the game.

In the next few months Yahoo, who already has a beta version of a pay per click model up and running will be expanding its service. At the moment, web site developers have an extremely long wait to be included into the Yahoo pay per click program. But that may change. Microsoft and AOL have also been seriously thinking about or building their pay per click programs as well. This is great news for a lot of web site owners that make their living off pay per click advertising. The more partners, the more security they have. They no longer have to worry about one supplier in town.

For advertisers this may also be an interesting development. Right now there is lots of competition for adverting. Will more places to advertise lower the cost, or will it create a bidding frenzy? Only time will tell. Now that Google Adsense is not the only game in town, things may change.
